According to the internet and also my mother, the Irish used to carve turnips before pumpkins. Every since I saw pics of that I wanted to try. I did it the other night and his name is Bertrand. You all can meet Bertrand as long as you promise to be nice to him because he is a real boy with real feelings

Thank you to the two people who promised to be nice to Bertrand, and the one person who repeatedly demanded to see him yet conspicuously did not promise or even agree to be nice. Bertrand is a sweet boy with real feelings and he is happy to meet you

Ol’ Chuck is referencing the Seed of Chucky movie and his doll offspring from that, Glen/Glenda. Who had an entire conversation about feeling different genders at different times and asked “Can I be both?” very excitedly. Their gender was an ongoing thing in the film for Chucky. (He’s obviously grown as a person doll and parent since.)
So canonically Chucky has had a genderfluid kid since 2004. Y’all are just late to this queer created/written/directed party.

(Tiffany - his doll mother, voiced by Jennifer Tilly - was pretty chill about Glen’s question fyi. She was like “Well, some people…”)
